Since 2003, Pinghe’s implementation of the IB Program has been authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as an International Baccalaureate World School. Since then, Pinghe became the first school of its kind that can recruit Chinese mainland students to study IBDP courses in Shanghai, which paved the way for future international education. Since the implementation of Pinghe’s pilot international curriculum, its high school division has developed rapidly. The recognition of a degree at Shanghai Pinghe School has steadily been increasing and its students are favored by many top universities around the world.

There are over 80 student-led clubs on the school campus, covering sports, arts, academics, robotics, language studies, school media, lab research, volunteers, etc. Students have the full initiation and autonomy to organize and manage the clubs under the supervision of a faculty member.
A wide variety of school activities are organized annually to help students demonstrate their talents and develop their interest and abilities in different fields, including Jumbo Party, New Year/Summer Concert, CAS Carnival, Sports Meeting, Cultural Fair, Media Summit, etc., Pinghe students also actively participate in national and global competitions including AMC 10/12, High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling, Physics Bowl, China Thinks Big, US Academic Decathlon, FIRST Robotics Competition, etc.,
Shanghai Pinghe School has been working closely with long-standing community partners including Jiuqian migrants’ kids school, local animal shelters, and etc., In addition, since the year of 2017, the cross-field panel discussion: PHenomenon has been initiated by the students and monthly organized so as to create positive and long-lasting impact on the community.
Shanghai Pinghe School is located in the Jinqiao Green City International Community in Biyun District. The school campus covers an area of 37,358 square meters with a total floor space of 67,698 square meters and a green area of 7,025 square meters. In the past five years, Pinghe has set up its Calligraphy classroom, English library, Dream Center, and School History Museum. The High School building, put into use in 2016, contains four floors, a 1200 square-meter gymnasium, and a school theater that can accommodate up to 500 people. Current in the high school, all of the teaching faculty members are certificated teachers. About 80% high school teachers hold post-graduate degrees, 12.6% of whom hold doctoral degrees. Over 60% faculty members have overseas education or work experience.
The high school department has been quite successful in student admission and acceptance. � Most of the graduates matriculated to world-renowned colleges and universities over the last 15 years. From 2005 to 2020, high school graduates have matriculated to the following universities in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and other countries or areas listed below.
